The Anatomy Finder and Layering Functionalities allow you to more easily locate specific anatomy within the program. Using these features can save a great deal especially if you purchase the additional anatomy available in the Premium Features package.

Anatomy Finder

The Anatomy Finder is a Task that allows you to easily search and locate specific anatomy within the platform.

QUICK TIP: To open the Anatomy Finder, click on the on the blue Anomalous Medical button in the top, left-hand corner of the screen. Click on the Anatomy Finder task to open the Anatomy Finder window on your stage.

By default, the Anatomy Finder shows the most recently clicked anatomy.

The screenshot above shows the 4 main sections of the Anatomy Finder.

  1. Clicked Field - by default, this shows the search results for the most recently clicked anatomy, to change the results, simply type in the name of the anatomy for which you would like to search and the results will appear below
  2. Clear Button - clears the search results and returns a list of all available anatomy
  3. Unhide - restores any anatomy previously made transparent by the user
  4. Results - shows the results based on user input, clicking on individual pieces of anatomy in the results section will bring up the Transparency Slider

Layering Functionality

The layering option works in conjunction with the Anatomy Finder task. When you click on a piece of anatomy with the Anatomy Finder enabled, the results section of the Finder box will change based on your selection to show both the anatomy on which you clicked as well as any anatomy that is either in front of or behind the anatomy clicked if you were looking at the skull as a 3D model.

EXAMPLE: When you click on the Temporalis Muscle, your search results will show the Masticatory System, Muscular System, Skeletal System, and Skull. You can then use these results to drill down further using the Transparency Sliders available on each.
